The latest 7-day QPF map shows that nearly all of the region will see less than a quarter inch of rain this week. The only exceptions are a bit more in southern Florida and in the mountains, where some showers may pop up later in the week. It’s not uncommon for a dry spell in September or October, but I know some farmers and home owners would like to see more rain for their ripening crops. Above normal temperatures will add extra moisture stress to areas that are not irrigated. Rain chances go up a bit next week but above-normal temperatures are expected for the next month.
