There will be several opportunities to learn about effective dormant cane and spur pruning throughout the region over the next month. I plan to be at all of these events to teach and address pruning questions. Please come on out to improve your pruning knowledge and skills.

 

1 – UGA Extension Viticulture team members will give two presentations on pruning strategies next week on Tuesday, February 5th at the Georgia Wine Producers meeting (at Chateau Elan in Braselton, GA):

2 – The Vineyard and Winery Association of West Georgia will be holding their annual pruning workshop from 10 AM to 12 PM on Saturday February 16th at The Vineyards at Mill Creek (664 Waddell Rd, Bremen, GA 30110).

3 – NC State Cooperative Extension/Henderson County will be holding its annual “Grape School” all day on Tuesday, February 26th at Burntshirt Vineyards (2695 Sugarloaf Rd, Hendersonville, NC 28792). Pruning topics will be covered, including a vineyard demo. GA growers will get two pesticide credits for attending this workshop.
