August is on the horizon, and you might be interested in the latest outlook for the next month. Unfortunately, I don’t see any big change in the pattern for the next month. Cooler and wetter conditions are expected to dominate the weather this week as the stream of atmospheric moisture that has been causing flooding along the East Coast is meandering west towards Georgia. The likelihood of rain is fairly high every day. Next week looks a little better, with some drier and warmer days in play for mid-week. The 3-4 week outlook shows more of the same cooler and wetter pattern we have seen for a lot of the summer so far. The new monthly outlook should be available from the Climate Prediction Center tomorrow, but I don’t see any big differences from my outlook above are likely. You can get updates at https://www.cpc.noaa.gov.
