Therefore, growers need to be mindful of the weather before planting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Planting early in subpar conditions will only put more stress on\nthe seed. &nbsp;The more stress we put on the seed the higher the risk for poor\ngermination and emergence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have talked with several of you regarding planting early this\npast week. Like I mentioned, I would try to hold your growers off until\nEaster.&nbsp; At that time, I would look at the 14 Day forecast as see if there\nare any predicted days of cold weather that would cause soil temps to go below\n68 degrees. &nbsp;I would not plant unless I was confident there are no more\ncold snaps predicted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Growers need to remember the quality of this seed may not be as good as in previous years.
