Turner County Watermelon Production Meeting is next Thurday, February 14, at 12:00 Noon at the Turner County Extension Office. Lunch will be provided. We generally have watermelon meetings in Tift and Crisp counties; however, I realize that it can be difficult to make out of county meetings sometimes. I hope that you take the opportunity to come as our specialists have a good meeting planned. UGA vegetable pathologist, Dr. Dutta, will be covering disease control in watermelon. He will discuss management of fusarium wilt and foliar diseases. UGA vegetable agronomist, Dr. Silva, is going to cover fertility and irrigation scheduling. He has some very valuable information presented in a way that is very understandable. Don’t miss this great opportunity.
