We have completed one full season in cotton with the new auxin technology. I would say that overall, we have been successful in using this product in Turner County, Georgia. However, I do not want to negate the potential for off-target movement that exists if this technology is used improperly (incorrect formulation, spraying with high wind speeds, incorrect pressure, incorrect tips….). To make sure we are good stewards of this technology, we need to adhere to new requirements for 2018. See the document below to review the new requirements. Please note that of these new requirements, one big change is on the training requirement of whoever’s posterior is in the driver’s seat of the tractor/sprayer. If you possess the Using Pesticides Wisely certification but have someone running the equipment for you, this person must have a one-on-one training that they can get from me.
