It\u2019s time again for producers from all around the Southeast to compete for who has the best hay\/baleage around! Winners of the 2019\u00a0Southeastern Hay Contest<\/a>\u00a0will be announced on the first day of\u00a0SUNBELT AG EXPO<\/a>\u00a0October 15, 2019<\/p>\n

The\u00a0GRAND PRIZE WINNER<\/strong>\u00a0of the Southeastern Hay Contest (Overall Highest RFQ) will receive\u00a0the choice of the use of a new Massey Ferguson RK Series rotary rake or a new Massey Ferguson DM Series Professional disc mower for the 2020 hay production season, $1,000 cash AND bragging rights of course!<\/p>\n

Each of the 7 categories has been sponsored by additional industry partners. Sponsors will provide cash awards to the top 3 places in each category including $150 for 1st\u00a0<\/sup>prize, $100 for 2nd\u00a0<\/sup>prize, and $75 for 3rd\u00a0<\/sup>prize. (Individual farms will only be recognized for their top entry in each category)<\/p>\n

  1. Warm Season Perennial Grass Hay (Bermudagrass, Bahiagrass, etc.)<\/li>\n
  2. Alfalfa Hay<\/li>\n
  3. Perennial Peanut Hay<\/li>\n
  4. Cool Season Perennial Grass Hay (Tall Fescue, Orchardgrass, etc.)<\/li>\n
  5. Mixed Annual Grass, or other Hay (Legume\/Grass Mixtures, Millet, Ryegrass, etc.)<\/li>\n
  6. Grass Baleage (High moisture grass forage ensiled in wrapped bales)<\/li>\n
  7. Legume Baleage (High moisture legume or grass\/legume mixtures ensiled in wrapped bales<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
