Cantaloupes and watermelons are coming in. Downy Mildew has been all around us but I haven’t heard or seen any confirmed in Tift County. Cotton stands haven’t been the best. Some water and a few degrees cooler would help. Majority of the problems have in cotton stands resulted from seed and environmental conditions. We plant a bunch of small seed varieties in Tift County. That coupled with extremely hot soil temperatures has just been rough on us. Also, we are looking for some non-bt corn and tobacco for some research Dr. Phillip Roberts is conducting with corn earworms and tobacco budworms. If you have any please let us know. Hold your heads high, focus on the positive and stay cool.

Georgia Crop Report

We had an event yesterday that we haven’t seen since Mother’s Day, some type of liquid substance fell from the sky.
