The 1&#8243;-2&#8243; of rain we were projected last week turned into 4&#8243;-5&#8243; which was more than we wanted. It has started to dry out enough to continue digging peanuts. I think this cool spell will slow them down some, this week I&#8217;ve seen more projecting into the 140s. While we rely on the maturity board for decision making don&#8217;t forget that there are several options to consider also. Peg strength, disease pressure, and weather to name a few. Cotton is being defoliated in spots and several fields are getting ready. I checked in on some of the gins around and they are starting to get some in on the yards. I have noticed several fields with late nematode pressure, some fields were treated with a nematicide and some were not. We will be looking into some options for that this Spring.
