It was a whirlwind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cotton:<\/strong> Target spot and some boll rot are showing up. Areolate mildew is also said to be lurking around but I haven&#8217;t found any yet. Nothing major, just small spots here and there. In general, treat when infestations reach 50 aphids\/leaf OR when pre-boot stage 25% of plants are infested and large numbers are present. Good spray coverage is critical, minimum of 10 GPA by ground, or 5 GPA by air. Chlorpyrifos and dimethoate products may not provide more than 7 days of control. Malathion may give partial control of sugarcane aphid on the head at the end of the season.
