Those little pests can cause a heap of damage if you&#8217;re at high risk for them. I hope some of you use the <a href=\"https:\/\/climate.ncsu.edu\/CottonTIP\">Thrips Predictor Tool<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cotton thrips treatment:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In-furrow liquid:\u00a0 up to 21 DAP efficacy\n<ul>\n<li>admire pro<\/li>\n<li>orthene<\/li>\n<li>5 gal\/a; it could 3 gal\/a for some, check the label<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>In-furrow granular: up to 28 DAP efficacy\n<ul>\n<li>AgLogic<\/li>\n<li>Rule of Thumb-every lb of alicarb= l week of activity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Tips on Thrips:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Threshold, 2-3 thrips per plant including immatures<\/li>\n<li>Presence of immatures means preventative control is no longer active<\/li>\n<li>Foliar spray-Orthene is best<\/li>\n<li>On the low-risk fields, seed and in-furrow treatment are ok<\/li>\n<li>On the high-risk fields, needs seed and foliar treatment.
