Corn: Its the time of year for little greyish tan spots to start showing up in corn. 99% of the time this is the result of some paraquat drift. There is no need to worry but if you would like one of us to come and check it out, just let us know.

Peanuts: Be on the lookout for some crown rot. We have been seeing some pop up here and there.

Cotton: A few questions have come up about using azoxystrobin (Abound, Quadris, etc.) in-furrow with our cottonseed. We know the peanut situation but with peanuts, we are targeting a different animal, Aspergillus Niger. Aspergillus Niger doesn’t affect cotton seedlings so we don’t worry about it. Azoxystrobin is very effective on Rhizoctonia, which is what we are trying to prevent in out cotton stands. So, Azoxystrobin is worth using as an extra treatment to protect your cotton stands.
