Getting your Trinity Audio player ready…

I’m sure that as some of you have read my posts and suggestions for managing stress, you may have thought “That’s easy for her to say–what does she know about farming?”

Well, you’re right that I am not farming, though I have lots of farming connections and learn more every day from my friends and colleagues in agriculture. But it is not my daily life.

Today I thought I’d let you listen to some farmers talking about stress and coping. The first video is from Perdue, where a group of farmers want every farmer to know that they are not alone, and that it’s ok to feel very stressed in farming…and it’s ok to ask for support and help.

The second is a video from New Zealand, where farmers talk about how they think about managing their stress.  I know the accents can be a little tricky (I’m sure they say the same thing about a good Southern accent), but if you have trouble you can turn on Closed Captions (the little CC at the bottom right) to follow.

So, don’t take my word for it. Listen to farmers themselves talk about stress and taking care.

Happy 4th of July to everyone!
