Regulations and requirements for pesticide applicators are getting more rigorous. \u00a0If you let your private pesticide license lapse there is no more short and fairly easy test to have one reissued. \u00a0Due to new federal regulations the state has had to develop a better educational tool to make sure that our pesticide applicators are better equipped with the information to help them apply pesticides wisely.<\/p>\n
To determine if you have enough hours or need hours you can go to this site. \u00a0Georgia Department of Agriculture<\/a>. \u00a0Type your last name and then make sure the correct license type is selected (either commercial or private). \u00a0Click the button that says Find Applicators with these criteria. \u00a0Scroll down and then click <\/a>on your name. \u00a0This will take you to a page that lists all of your credit hours, how many you need and when your license expires. \u00a0It also tells if you attended the applying pesticides wisely training.<\/p>\n If you see that you are short there are online options. \u00a0These usually cost a certain amount per hour of credit. \u00a0There are other ways to get credit and one is available to growers on the 17th of this month. \u00a0Yes that is next Wednesday. \u00a0From 7:45 to 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday we will be hosting an online webinar that offers up to 2 hours of credit in the following categories.
