Prior to making applications of dicamba to dicamba-tolerant cotton\/soybean or 2,4-D to 2,4-D-tolerant cotton\/soybeans in Georgia<strong>, growers will be required to attend the training \u201cUsing Pesticides Wisely\u201d<\/strong>.\u00a0 The training will focus on helping applicators\/growers make wise decisions when applying not only 2,4-D and dicamba but all pesticides.\u00a0<strong><em>Growers are strongly encouraged to bring their applicators with them.\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong>Attendance is suggested for all on farm applicators to confirm that they have been provided the best management practices when applying all pesticides.<strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"post-title entry-title\">The next meeting will be held at the <strong>Houston County Extension Office on February 17th at 9:00 a.m. \u00a0<\/strong> Please call to let us know you will be attending.<\/p>\n<p class=\"post-title entry-title\">Growers who attended 2015 or 2016 trainings, as long as they registered, are not required to attend the meeting again. \u00a0if you are unsure you can visit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.agr.georgia.gov\/24c.aspx\">www.agr.georgia.gov\/24c.aspx<\/a> to determine class participation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"post-title entry-title\">Growers do not have to, but they are welcome to attend as many times as they like.\u00a0 The trainings have resulted in 1499 Georgia growers completing the required training. \u00a0A survey conducted of these trainings noted 99% of growers felt the training was worth their time and 98% of them believed the training would help them increase on-target pesticide applications.\u00a0 If you have questions concerning your registration, please contact your local county extension office.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>February 17th is about the\u00a0last chance to get certified to use the new auxin tolerant crops and registered herbicides.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":122,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-316","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/threerivers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/316","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/threerivers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/threerivers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/threerivers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/122"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/threerivers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=316"}],"version-history":[{"count":3,"href":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/threerivers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/316\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":320,"href":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/threerivers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/316\/revisions\/320"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/threerivers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=316"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/threerivers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=316"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/threerivers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=316"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
