Remove Stains From Soap

Apparel/Fabrics

If soap has not been thoroughly rinsed out, a stain resembling iron rust or scorch will appear during ironing. Rewashing the garment, rinsing thoroughly, will take out this discoloration.

CAUTIONS:

Always read the care label before trying any stain removal method. Do not use any products or procedures prohibited by the care label.

Carpet

Blended Fibers, Hemp, Jute, Natural Fibers, Synthetic Fibers, Wool

Sponge stain immediately with cool water. If stain persists, continue to sponge with cool water, flushing out all traces of the stain. If the color has been altered, or to prevent fading or bleeding, neutralize the spot with a few drops of a mild acid such as lemon juice, white vinegar or a 10 percent acetic acid solution. Sponge thoroughly with cool water. When stain is gone, blot to remove all excess moisture. Rub hand across pile (against the nap) to set the pile. Allow to dry.

NOTE: If soap has a high lye content, the fabric may be damaged permanently. SiIk and wool fibers are sometimes destroyed or weakened by strong soaps which contain alkalies or ammonia.

CAUTION:

Do not use lemon juice, vinegar or acetic acid full strength on cotton or linen fibers, as they may be permanently damaged by acids. Mix them with 2 parts water.
