Remove Stains From Pencil Lead, Graphite

Apparel/Fabrics

Erase with a soft eraser, such as art gum. Sponge with a commercial cleaner’ or apply a pre-wash soil and stain remover. Launder. Repeat treatment if stain remains.

Look for products containing petroleum distillates or hydrocarbon such as trichloroethane, xylene, methylenechloride, methane, benzene and/or naphtha. These chemicals may be found in such spot removers and cleaners as Guardsman’s Afta, Oap Cleaner and Thinner, Goof Off, M-1 Remover, Goo Gone, K2r.

Exterior Surfaces

Porches, Decks, Patios

Asphalt, Wood (Painted)

Remove any excess marks with a soft eraser. Wipe the surface with a cloth or sponge dipped in warm, sudsy water. Rinse well with clear water and wipe dry.

Brick, Concrete, Stone

Wash the surface with a solution of Washing (sal) Soda and water. Scrub with a soft-bristled brush. Rinse thoroughly with clear water and allow to dry.

Wood (Stained)

Use a soft eraser to remove any excess marks. Mix dishwashing detergent in hot water and swish to make a great volume of suds. Dip a cloth in only the foam and apply to the stain. Rinse with a clean cloth dampened with clear water. Polish or wax as soon as possible.

Siding/walls

Aluminum, Masonite, Vinyl, Wood (Painted)
