Remove Stains From Home Permanent

Apparel/Fabrics

  1. Soak in a solution of 1 quart warm water, 1/2 teaspoon liquid hand dishwashing detergent and 1 tablespoon white vinegar for 15 minutes. Rinse with water. Sponge with alcohol. Wash.
  2. Following directions on the label, apply a commercial pre-washer (spot and stain remover) to the stained area. Next, place a sodium perborate bleach and water paste on the stain. Let stand for 15 minutes. Wash.

CAUTIONS:

  • Always read your care label before trying any stain removal method. Do not use any products or procedures prohibited by the care label.
  • Always pretest each cleaning agent on an inconspicuous area first to determine colorfastness.
  • When using caustic or commercial cleaning solutions, be certain to provide for adequate ventilation.

General

Home permanent solutions contain sulphur and can cause permanent chemical stains which may not show up for several months. Remove the excess spill as quickly as possible by blotting with paper towels or an absorbent cloth. Do not spread the spill or allow it to penetrate the carpet fibers.

Carpet

Blended Fibers, Fur, Hemp, Jute, Natural Fibers, Synthetic Fibers, Wool

  1. Sponge with clear water and blot dry.
  2. Sponge stain with clear water and blot. Then apply butyl alcohol to a cloth and dab the stain. Continue until all of the stain that is removable has been picked up. Blot.
  3. Sponge with a solution of 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water. Blot. Then sponge with clear water and blot again. Allow to dry. This will help remove the odor.

CAUTIONS:

  • Alcohol will damage acetate, triacetate, modacrylics and acrylic fibers. Dilute with 2 parts water on acetate.
  • Vinegar should be diluted with 2 parts water to 1 part vinegar if used on cotton or linen.

Furniture – Plastic, Vinyl

Home permanent hair solutions can permanently stain plastic and vinyl surfaces if not treated. Sponge with clear water and blot dry.

Upholstered Furniture

Home permanent hair solutions can permanently stain plastic and vinyl surfaces. Work quickly to remove the spill. Place a clean white cloth over the soiled area and pour a liberal amount of 6 percent hydrogen peroxide on the cloth and let remain on area for 30·60 minutes. If spot persists, keep cloth on area overnight.

CAUTIONS:

  • Do not allow hydrogen peroxide to touch lacquered or stained wood.
  • Be careful any time a commercial product or combination of cleaning supplies are used.
  • Be sure to store and dispose of products/cans/containers as recommended. Keep out of reach of children.
