Remove Stains From Feces/manure (Human, Animal)

Human

Apply a detergent paste on the soiled area. Soak in hot water that contains sodium perborate bleach for 30 minutes. Treat soiled area with a commercial pre-wash spot and stain remover. Launder using chlorine bleach, if safe for fabric. Otherwise, use sodium perborate bleach.

Animal

Pre-treat or soak in a product containing sodium perborate bleach. Apply a commercial pre-wash spot and stain remover to stain, front and back. Wait 1 minute. Wash in heavy-duty liquid detergent and sodium perborate bleach.

CAUTIONS:

  • Always read the care label before trying any stain removal method. Do not use any products or procedures prohibited by the care label.
  • Be careful any time a commercial product or combination of cleaning supplies are used.
  • Always pretest each cleaning agent on an inconspicuous area first to determine colorfastness.
  • Be sure to store and dispose of products/cans/containers as recommended. Keep out of reach of children.
  • When using caustic or commercial cleaning solutions, be certain to provide for adequate ventilation.

Carpet

Blended Fibers, Fur, Hemp, Jute, Natural Fibers, Synthetic Fibers, Wool

  1. Scrape gently to remove the solids, being careful not to push the stain into the pile of the carpet. Sponge the area with a solution of 1 teaspoon mild, white dishwashing detergent and 1 pint lukewarm water. Blot the stain with an absorbent pad. Continue the sponging and blotting until no more stain is removed.
  2. If any stain persists, sponge the area with a solution of 1 tablespoon ammonia to 1 cup warm water. Blot excess liquid and continue treatment until no more stain is removed. Place an absorbent pad over the damp area and weight it down with books, etc. When no more liquid is absorbed, remove the pad and allow the area to thoroughly air dry. Rub fingers through the carpet to restore pile.

CAUTIONS:

  • Always pretest each cleaning agent on an inconspicuous area first to determine colorfastness.
  • Be careful any time a commercial product or combination of cleaning supplies are used.
  • Be sure to store and dispose of products/cans/containers as recommended. Keep out of reach of children.
  • When using caustic, toxic, aromatic or flammable cleaning solutions, be certain to provide for adequate ventilation. Do not have an open flame near flammable cleaning solutions. Wear rubber gloves.
  • Ammonia damages silk and wool. If you must use on these fibers, dilute with equal amounts of water and use sparingly.
  • Vinegar should be diluted with 2 parts water to 1 part vinegar if used on cotton or linen.

Upholstered Furniture

Blended Fibers, Fiberglass, Fur, Natural Fibers, Synthetic Fibers, Wool

  1. Quickly and gently scrap to remove the solids. Be careful not to force any stain into the fiber. Sponge the stain with a solution of 1 quart warm water, 1 teaspoon liquid white dishwashing detergent, and 1 tablespoon ammonia. Blot occasionally with an absorbent pad. When stain is removed, sponge thoroughly with clear water to remove all traces of ammonia, always using caution to avoid overwetting the fabric and stuffing material.
  2. If a stain remains, spray the stain with a laundry pre-soak product such as Spray ‘n Wash. Spray some on an absorbent pad and place pad on stain, allowing to remain for 10-15 minutes. Sponge with clear water and blot thoroughIy.
