Local News for 4-H, Agriculture, and Family and Consumer Science

As everyone is aware this past year has been quite different from any before it. COVID-19 has affected many aspects of everyday life that people have taken for granted. Social gatherings, eating inside restaurants, and even shaking hands have taken a hiatus for now. I have faith that soon enough our country will get back to a normal way of life, but until then we are advised to take precautions and follow CDC guidelines to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus.

This year’s annual production meetings are going to be different. They are all going to be live virtual zoom meetings. However, the Tattnall County Extension office is going to be conducting ‘watch parties’ for anyone interested. Rules will be in place to limit seating (pre-registration is a must) and social distancing will also be implemented.

**Only residents of Tattnall County are allowed to register due to updated UGA guidelines. No meals will be provided as well under updated UGA guidelines.**

Each meeting will have a limit of 18 attendees. In the event a meeting receives more than 18 RSVP’s, we will reach out and coordinate to move your attendance to another date.  A meeting will only take place if participants have pre-registered. A meeting with no RSVP’s will not take place. We are asking that RSVP’s be sent in at the latest 1 to 2 days prior to the meeting. If you plan on attending the meeting please call Ms. Kay at 912-557-6724 then dial 0.

If you have any questions please call our office. We will be happy to help. Remember if you do plan on coming registration is required. Every meeting can only have 18 participants so if you simply show up and we are full according to UGA guidelines we cannot let you participate. We are going to have ‘watch parties’ for all meetings except the pecan on February 9th.

Masks will be required for all participants. If you do not have a mask, one will be given out at the meeting.

I know that these times have been trying and we are doing our best to make these production meetings fun and engaging for everyone while at the same time adhering to both UGA and CDC guidelines.

In order to register, anyone wishing to view the meetings will follow the link at the bottom of this email or included in the attached flyer.  Once on the Eventbrite page attendees may select the date(s) they wish to register for and follow the website instructions.  If you are hosting a viewing session for your growers then you will need to register for each individual meeting you are hosting a viewing session for individually as each meeting will have a unique Zoom access link.  Individuals attending county viewing sessions do not need to preregister through the provided links only the county agent who is hosting, I am NOT referring to the pre-registration Covid requirement for individual watch parties, only the Zoom preregistration through Eventbrite.  However, everyone that will be logging into the meetings from a personal device will have to register in order to attend.  Registration for each meeting will end approximately 18 hours prior to the scheduled meeting.

Once registered, Zoom access links will be emailed the day of the meeting and not as soon as you register.
