I am trying to get a company (DSM) to register Zivion (Natamycin a.i.) as a transplant dip for strawberries. It would be active against anthracnose and possibly Botrytis that would come in on the transplants. With the resistance we are seeing to multiple fungicides, we need to reduce disease from the beginning where possible, and this would give us another option. There is good research information to support the registration, but the company wants to know that Georgia strawberry producers are interested in the product. I have honestly never had to ask producers to contact a company to ask for a product, but that seems to be the process on the registration of this product for Georgia. Please see the contact below and give a call or send an e-mail to Ronda Smith. I think it would be beneficial to have this product in our tool box. It is comparable to Switch for this purpose, but I know nothing about the price differential. This product is being used regularly now in the major strawberry states.
