Today I want to make an announcement about the Northeast District Forestry and Wildlife Management Field Day I am holding on April 3rd here in Toccoa. The purpose of this field day is to provide land managers the insight they need to provide quality habitat for wildlife while also maintaining a healthy and profitable timber stand.
We have a great lineup of speakers from Quality Deer Management Association, National Wild Turkey Federation, Georgia Department of Natural Resources, and the University of Georgia Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. Topics include: whitetail deer management, turkey management, predator management, hot topics in wildlife management, and timber management. There will be the following continuing education hours available for participants in attendance: continuing logger education category B- 4.5 hours and continuing forestry education- 3.5 hours. Pesticide credit will also be available in the following categories: category 23- 4 hours, category 21- 2 hours, and category- 10 1 hour. The cost for participants is $25 and includes lunch. Registration will be capped at 50 participants.
