As we move quickly through the month of January the spring will be here before we know it. With that being said it is time to start thinking out weed management strategies for your pastures and hayfields for this coming year. To prepare for this coming spring the Stephens county extension office will be holding a Pasture Weed Management Seminar on February 11th from 5:45-8:00 at the Willard Kimsey Environmental Center. Topics of the meeting include weed identification, sprayer calibration, herbicide selection, and application timing.
Mr. Clay Williams who is a range and pasture specialist from Corteva Agriscience will be the guest speaker. Corteva Agrisicence is the manufacturer of the well-known and widely used Grazon herbicide product line.
Two hours of private pesticide credit will also be available to all current license holders in attendance. This meeting will be very informative and help you make more informed weed management decisions in your pastures and hayfields. Registration fees for the seminar is $15.00 which includes a meal and materials. Registration can be paid via cash or check at the Stephens county extension office prior to the meeting.
