Update on Progress of the Federal Marketing Order for Pecans

I recently received the first issue of the American Pecan Board Newsletter. The American Pecan Board (APB) was formed in May 2013 and represents all segments of the pecan industry. The board has been working towards a Federal Marketing Order (FMO) to benefit the domestic and global pecan market. This is one of the most important factors involved in creating demand for pecans on both the international and domestic front, where it is so sorely needed in order to grow a sustainable market for pecans. This effort will become increasingly important as the many new acres of pecans planted over the last 4 to 5 years come into production.
