In case you missed one of my production meeting presentations, I just wanted to let you all know that the bifenthrin product, Brigade 2EC, now has a supplemental label to allow its use in peaches, pome fruits, and pomegranates.
In terms of how to best incorporate bifenthrin into our spray programs, I need to do some work on efficacy against our various pests. However, bifenthrin is a pyrethroid (group 3A), so it is a broad spectrum insecticide that is effective against many of our insect pests, particularly stink bugs and plant bugs. In other crops, bifenthrin has shown to be especially rainfast allowing it to have a long residual. As such bifenthrin often outperforms many other pyrethroids. As a pyrethroid, though, note that bifenthrin can also impact our beneficial insects, so it is a good idea to only use as needed.
This label is good until December 31, 2024 . The label allows for 3 applications per year, has an REI of 12 hours, and a PHI of 14 days. For more information, please see the label below:
