<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We have two exciting \u201cZoom into Science\u201d sessions scheduled for July.&nbsp; We plan to continue to offer at least one session each month (maybe more!) for the foreseeable future.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We ask our presenters to gear the content for upper elementary and middle school students.&nbsp; However, we do realize that many families may be watching together, so it could be a great educational experience for younger or older youth.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You are encouraged to share this information with 4-H families, schools, educational groups, other youth-serving organizations, etc.&nbsp; Anyone can participate &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; they just have to register!&nbsp; We\u2019ve also seen great success with county 4-H offices creating online Facebook events for each session, so this could be something your youth-center does as well.&nbsp; Social media graphics (PNG files formatted for Facebook) are inlcuded for easy promotion; all you need to do is share!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All about Paleontology: July 9, 2020 at 4:00pm eastern <\/strong>\u2013 Neil Shubin, world-renowned paleontologist and discoverer of <em>Tiktaalik roseae <\/em>will be sharing about his work and important discoveries in fossil records.&nbsp; <em>Please note Dr. Shubin\u2019s original session in June was canceled, due to a family emergency.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Register at: <a href=\"tinyurl.com\/scizoompaleontology2\">tinyurl.com\/scizoompaleontology2<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All about Water: July 23, 2020 at 4:00pm eastern <\/strong>\u2013 The Southwest District 4H2O Team will be sharing all about the importance of earth\u2019s water.&nbsp; This long-standing, successful 4-H program is shifting to a virtual format in 2020!&nbsp; Presenters include Debra Cox, Mitchell County Extension 4-H Educator, Sylvia Davis, Baker\/Mitchell County Extension FCS Agent, Brian Hayes, Mitchell County Extension ANR Agent, Cale Cloud, Southwest District Extension Water Agent, and Calvin Perry, UGA Stripling Irrigation Research Park Superintendent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Register at: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tinyurl.com\/scizoomwater\">www.tinyurl.com\/scizoomwater<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These online, 1-hour zoom sessions allow participants to learn more from experts in their field as well as being exposed to a variety of science-related careers.&nbsp; Each Zoom will end with a \u201cquestion and answer\u201d session with the scientist(s), allowing your 4-H\u2019ers to directly engage with these individuals.&nbsp; Families will pre-register using the links provided.&nbsp; E-mail confirmations with the Zoom log-in instructions will only be sent to registered attendees.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do you have a suggestion for a guest scientist for an upcoming \u201cZoom into Science\u201d session?&nbsp; E-mail me Kasey Bozeman!
