Join the Conversation…The Pandemic Population is a three-series interactive program with participants reading Tim Elmore’s book, The Pandemic Population: Eight Strategies to Help Generation Z Rediscover Hope after Coronavirus and working together to process the book, discuss our reactions and ideas, and reflect in ways we can better support our teens in this season.  Participants register online and select their preferred dates. Books will be provided at no cost to registered participants. The organizing team even has a self-directed option for those who are unable to join the conversations online or for those who miss one of their group sessions. This effort is coordinated by the 4-H CYFAR PDTA project.

The series includes a discussion  at the launch of the group, mid-way through reading, and at the conclusion. We will schedule 90 minute blocks for each session with time in the first hour to share trends and content, discuss ideas, and begin planning our programming based on the learning. The final 30 minutes of the session is optional and provides an informal space for participants to visit and share as they would like.  We have heard from many of our partners the desire to connect and we hope the additional time scheduled will provide that option.  We will ask participants to prepare a reflection plan to implement the ideas they have learned and will provide follow up opportunities to gather feedback from the experience.  Our plan is to provide several groups for the series with some groups launching sooner than others.  This will provide small groups that hopefully can accommodate different schedules.

4-H CYFAR PDTA project would love for you to promote this opportunity to Extension and Military staff and volunteers working with military-connected teens. We would like our first participants to register before March 31st so that we may kick off our first conversations in early April. Mrs. Jordan, the organizer, has included social media graphics to use as well as the basic information below for promotional use with staff.
