Connect with us for this year’s Virtual Fall Forum, “Georgia 4-H: We Stick Together!”  Our Georgia 4-H State Board of Directors are planning an interactive time together via Zoom for high school 4-H’ers on Saturday, December 12, 2020, from 4:00 – 9:00 PM (scheduled break from 6:00 – 7:00 PM for dinner).  Highlights of the evening will include games, a ‘speed meet-and-greet’, a dance, and more!  It will be a fun evening for Senior 4-H’ers to connect with other youth from across the state.  Zoom details will be sent at a later time to participating counties.

In addition to the live virtual event, 4-H’ers will have the opportunity to submit workshop presentations, poster/exhibits, and community service opportunities for delegates to view on the Georgia 4-H webpage at georgia4h.org/FallForum.  These sharing opportunities are asynchronous viewing experiences that other 4-H youth may access any time on our public website beginning on December 12.  These submissions must be received online at tinyurl.com/fallforum20opportunities by Wednesday, December 9, at 5:00 PM.  Submissions are limited to 1 workshop, 1 poster/exhibit, and 1 community service for each individual.  I have attached a worksheet that will help participants prepare to enter their submissions into the Qualtrics.  This is a great opportunity for young people to gain experience in sharing information with others.

We will continue our tradition of the “Georgia 4-H Cans Hunger” statewide service project for this year’s event.  4-H’ers are encouraged to collect canned goods and non-perishable items to benefit a local food bank, soup kitchen, or charity of your choice.  These items are intended to stay in YOUR county to fight hunger locally.  Therefore, please donate the products as you see fit in your local community.

Pre-registration for the virtual event is required through Event Registration. 4-H’ers must be in the 9th-12th grade to be eligible to join.  There is not a cost associated with this virtual event.  Contact your local office to register youth for this event.

As a reminder, virtual program agreement and waiver/consent forms will be required for all youth participants and any adult volunteer that participates needs to be current with the UGA Extension volunteer requirements. Military youth will need to sign off on these forms and you can request these when you register youth with your local office.

If you do not know who your local Extension contact is contact Laura Goss for assistance at laurwalt@uga.edu.
