The week of March each year during the start of Spring is National Horticultural Therapy Week!
It is set aside as the week to recognize and celebrate the passion, the work, and the important contributions horticultural therapists make to society and the communities they serve.
National Horticultural Therapy Week 2022 begins Sunday the 20th of March and runs through Saturday the 26th of March.
Horticultural therapists are professionals with specific education, training, and credentials in the use of horticulture for therapy and rehabilitation. Horticultural therapy is the participation in horticultural activities facilitated by a registered horticultural therapist to achieve specific goals within an established treatment, rehabilitation, or vocational plan. Horticultural therapy is an active process which occurs in the context of an established treatment plan where the process itself is considered the therapeutic activity.
