Summer is just around the corner, and the Madison County 4-H program is gearing up for an exciting lineup of activities designed to keep youth engaged, active, and learning. Through the University of Georgia Extension, 4-H continues to provide meaningful opportunities for students to grow their skills, build friendships, and explore new interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Summer Packed with Activities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The 2026 Summer Fun schedule offers a wide range of events for students in 4th through 12th grade. Kicking things off on May 29 is Wahsega Fun Day, where younger students can enjoy a full day outdoors with lunch included. Just a few days later, older students can attend a Gwinnett Stripers game, combining recreation with a fun social experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout June and July, participants can choose from a variety of hands-on and adventure-based activities. From mini golf outings to kayaking on the Broad River, these events encourage youth to step outside, try something new, and build confidence. The kayaking trip, in particular, offers a unique opportunity for middle and high school students to connect with nature while developing teamwork skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Camps That Inspire Learning<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For those interested in themed educational experiences, July features several popular day camps. STEM Day Camp allows students to explore science, technology, engineering, and math in an interactive setting. Ag Day Camp introduces youth to agriculture and its importance in everyday life, while Healthy Living Day Camp focuses on wellness, nutrition, and healthy habits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Older students also have the chance to attend State Council in late June, a multi-day event focused on leadership development and connection with fellow 4-H members from across the state. Participants should also be aware of important policies, including no refunds for no-shows without 48-hour notice and guidelines for trips involving swimming.
