Participating in 4-H judging teams offers many benefits. Competitors learn teamwork, self-confidence, effective communication skills and decision making.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The state contest will take place on June 2, 2026 at the Georgia National Fair Grounds.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Practices take place at the Madison County 4-H office on Wednesday afternoons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:#eaeaea\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Teen Leader Opportunities<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>7th-12th Grades<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Vet Vaccine Clinic<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>April 18, 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Madison County 4-H is partnering with Comer Vet Clinic to host a Dog &amp; Cat Vaccine Clinic, and we need your help! Volunteers are needed to assist with check-in, directing participants, and helping the event run smoothly. This is a great opportunity to serve your community, gain hands-on experience, and support local pet owners. Sign up to lend a hand and make a difference!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3rd Grade Environmental Summit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>May 11-12, 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Madison County 4-H is partnering with <em>Keep Madison County Beautiful <\/em>for the 3rd Grade Environmental Summit, and we\u2019re looking for teen leaders to get involved! Volunteers will help guide student groups from table to table and assist presenters throughout the event. This is a great opportunity to build leadership skills, work with younger students, and support environmental education in our community. The program recognizes youth who have identified a community, agricultural, or environmental need and worked to address it. Applications should reflect a 4-H&#8217;er&#8217;s work over the past year, from January 1 of the prior year through March 1 of the current year (January 2025-March 2026).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please email <a href=\"mailto:michaela.brown@uga.edu\">Ms. Michaela<\/a> to receive the application and for more information. <strong>The deadline to apply is April 13, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:#eaeaea\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Georgia 4-H Ambassadors<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>8th-11th Grades<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Georgia 4-H Ambassador Program is now accepting applications for 2026\u20132027! This program empowers 4-H members to develop leadership skills and gain expertise in a specific content area through a hands-on training experience. Selected ambassadors will return to their communities to share their knowledge and represent Georgia 4-H across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s tracks include Health &amp; Wellness, Pollinators, Science &amp; Engineering, Wildlife, Animal Science, Bats, and Innovative Agriculture. While specific dates will be announced soon, now is the perfect time to start planning for a season full of fun and growth. Registration opens April 24 and closes May 22, so be sure to sign up early to secure your spot. Don\u2019t miss out on a summer filled with discovery, skill-building, and 4-H fun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Registration will open April 24th. To register, you must fill out the Google Form that will be released when dates are determined. Spots are limited and they will go fast!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:#eaeaea\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Summer Camps<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We have a waiting list for our camps but it isn&#8217;t too late to register! Sign up online or come by the office. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over 8,000 children ages 9 and up, accompanied by over 1,000 adult and teen leaders, travel annually to Georgia\u2019s unique 4-H centers for a week of camp that will be remembered and cherished for years to come. Youth interested in wildlife, fisheries, forestry, water, etc., are encouraged to apply. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This camp is by application only as there are only 30 spots.
