April is Month of the Military Child, and here in Madison County, Georgia 4-H is excited to join the national celebration! This month is all about recognizing military kids—the youngest members of our armed forces—who make sacrifices while their families serve our country.

On April 17, we’ll be celebrating Purple Up Day by wearing purple to show our support. Madison County 4-H will join youth across the nation in honoring these amazing kids who face unique challenges while serving alongside their parents.

A smiling young girl wearing glasses and a purple shirt stands in front of a blurred background. Her shirt features a 4-H Military Club emblem. Text on the right side of the image reads, “Purple Up for Military Kids!” with a 4-H Military Partnership logo in the corner. The image promotes wearing purple to support military children.

Did you know there are over 1.6 million military children across the U.S.? They often move every two to three years, which means new schools, new friends, and lots of changes. While our military members serve around the world, it’s important to remember the resilience and dedication of their children, too.

Want to get involved? Reach out to your local University of Georgia County Extension Office or visit www.georgia4h.org. To learn more about the 4-H Military Partnership, check out www.georgia4h.org/military.

At Georgia 4-H, we help youth build life skills, make positive connections, and grow as leaders in their communities. We’re proud to celebrate and support the children of those who serve our country!
