This consists of creating a project portfolio that includes main project work, research\/sharing and helping, leadership and community service activities, and other 4-H related activities that have been completed by the 4-H\u2019er in the 2023 program year. After their portfolio submission, they write a speech and create posters or PowerPoint slides as visual aids for their presentation. Along with competing in their project category over the weekend, they also had the opportunity to vote for the new District Board of Directors, meet new friends, and learn more about the amazing opportunities that 4-H provides students district and statewide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/longcounty4h\/files\/2024\/02\/IMG_7434-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-378\" srcset=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/longcounty4h\/files\/2024\/02\/IMG_7434-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/longcounty4h\/files\/2024\/02\/IMG_7434-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/longcounty4h\/files\/2024\/02\/IMG_7434-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/longcounty4h\/files\/2024\/02\/IMG_7434-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/longcounty4h\/files\/2024\/02\/IMG_7434.jpg 1800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Mackenzie Spurgeon placed 1st in the Sports Individual category. Addy Shaw placed 2nd in the Food Labs: Dairy category. Trinity Holston placed 3rd in the Performing Arts: Instrumental category. Madison Spurgeon placed 1<sup>st<\/sup> in the Food Labs: Better Breakfast category. Other competitors were Brandon Kauffman who competed in the Food Labs: Dairy category and Eian Nelson who competed in the Sports category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAll of these students did an excellent job and should be proud of all that they have accomplished. It takes a lot of time and effort to prepare these speeches and have the confidence to deliver in a room full of strangers which speaks volumes to their work ethic and character,\u201d says Shelby Dyal, 4-H Educator. Project Achievement Workshop Days have started for our younger 4-H\u2019ers in grades 4th-6th. Their District competition will be on Saturday, March 23rd in Bacon County.
