As a native of Wisconsin with a bachelors in dairy science, I have a soft spot in my heart for dairy cattle – especially Jerseys!

The University of Georgia’s “Jersey Active Management by Students” (JAMS) is a student group dedicated to learning about Jersey genetics, making mating decisions, and developing goals for their herd of over 40 Jersey cows. One of their goals was to make the UGA name more well-known within the Jersey world.

They have certainly achieved this goal by consigning one of their heifers to the 2023 National Jersey Heifer Sale where proceeds benefit youth involved with the Jersey breed. She is JX UGA ARCHIE OCOA {6} and sells as Lot 28. She is bred for early 2024 with sexed Logger (29JE4343). OCOA sells on June 23rd, 2023, at 6:30pm CDT in Onalaska, Wisconsin (also broadcast on CowBuyer.com).
