Per the Georgia Department of Agriculture:
“Effective immediately [2/16/2022] all exhibitions, shows, sales (flea markets, auction markets), swaps, and meets pertaining to poultry and feathered fowl in the State of Georgia are suspended until further notice. Notifications will be announced when listed activities can resume in Georgia.”
Please note that NO birds have tested positive in commercial or backyard flocks in Georgia yet, this is a preventative measure!

Remember, good biosecurity practices are the best defense against avian influenza (AI). There are currently no confirmed cases of AI in the state of Georgia. However, if we get to that point, be aware that there is free AI testing through the Georgia Poultry Lab Network. Their hotline is 770-766-6850.
