Calhoun County, located in Southwest Georgia, is home to approximately 5,500 residents. Since the program’s beginning, Healthier Together has worked to enhance obesity prevention efforts within the county through nutrition and physical activity education and active community engagement. A few examples of these efforts include the creation of new community gardens, walkability signs posted in numerous parts of the county, and walking path repairs and/or new path construction.
Our efforts within the county will continue to develop to ensure that Calhoun County residents are better-educated about nutrition and physical activity so they can live Healthier Together!
