When someone takes time to thoughtfully select a gift for me, it means so much more than a check or cash; however, I am not against receiving money. In some instances and circumstances it is a very thought and generous gift.&nbsp; I say that thinking of my husband who lives across the ocean. He is a practical man. For Valentine&#8217;s Day he mailed me a card filled with postage stamps.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/greenway\/files\/2014\/11\/1889096_10202236506332970_547446294_o.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2022\" src=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/greenway\/files\/2014\/11\/1889096_10202236506332970_547446294_o.jpg?w=547\" alt=\"1889096_10202236506332970_547446294_o\" width=\"450\" height=\"338\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>My favorite types of gifts to give are ones that &#8220;live on&#8221; or continue to be used throughout the year. I came up with some ideas to get you thinking about how you can encourage people you care about to live greener, have fun and enjoy life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nature Lover. <\/strong>Fill a backpack with some of the items below. Attach a walking stick and some natural decorations like pinecones and holly, and it\u2019s ready to give.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bird feeder<\/li>\n<li>Bird identification book<\/li>\n<li>Binoculars<\/li>\n<li>Compass<\/li>\n<li>Membership to a state botanical garden, like <span style=\"color:#0000ff\"><a style=\"color:#0000ff\" href=\"https:\/\/botgarden.uga.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Georgia\u2019s<\/a><\/span>. (Your state garden may be part of <span style=\"color:#0000ff\"><a style=\"color:#0000ff\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ahs.org\/gardening-programs\/rap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reciprocal Admission Program<\/a><\/span> so you can enjoy beautiful gardens around the country.)<\/li>\n<li>Picture you made from dried flowers from your garden<\/li>\n<li>Coupon book you create for an outdoor adventure each month of the year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2054\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2054\" style=\"width: 450px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/greenway\/files\/2014\/11\/nature.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2054\" src=\"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/greenway\/files\/2014\/11\/nature.jpg?w=547\" alt=\"This is for a western friend.
