Agent – Janette Burkes

Janette Burkes, Grady County’s FACS Agent, has been a dedicated member of the community since 1992. She began her career in financial services, holding various positions including teller, customer service representative, office manager, retail banking officer, and support specialist. In 2016, she transitioned into education, earning a degree in early childhood from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (formerly Bainbridge State College), followed by a bachelor’s degree in Special Education from the University of Georgia in 2019.
After teaching Special Education at Cairo High School for four years, Janette took on the newly reestablished role of FACS Agent, a position Grady County had not had in over 20 years. She will further her education by pursuing a master’s degree in Agriculture, Leadership, Education, and Communications at the University of Georgia, beginning in January 2025. In her free time, she enjoys deep-sea and flats fishing, reading, gardening, and spending time with her family.
