See below for details on the contest and contact Ms. Allie at allie723@uga.edu if you want to get pumpkin seeds from the 4-H office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is once again time for the <strong>Georgia 4-H<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Pumpkin Growing Contest<\/strong>\u00a0sponsored by the Georgia Fruits and Vegetables Growers Association. \u00a0This contest offers 4-H&#8217;ers a chance to learn skills of farm management, along with initiative, self-reliance, and preparation skills. \u00a0We are happy to announce this competition is now open, and 4-H&#8217;ers are encouraged to begin preparing to grow their largest pumpkins.\u00a0 The Pumpkin Growing Contest webpage has been updated and can be accessed at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.georgia4h.org\/pumpkin\">georgia4h.org\/pumpkin<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This contest is open to all 4-H&#8217;ers, kindergarten through 12th grade, and only one submission is allowed per 4-H&#8217;er. \u00a0All entries must be submitted by Wednesday, October 21, 2020.\u00a0 This year\u2019s results will be announced on Monday, October 26, 2020, in celebration of National Pumpkin Day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cash prizes will be awarded to participants as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table caes-extended-core-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td>1<sup>st<\/sup> Place $100.00<\/td><td>2<sup>nd<\/sup> Place $50.00<\/td><td>3<sup>rd<\/sup> Place $25.00<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These prizes will be sent by the State 4-H Office. \u00a0Prize money is graciously sponsored by the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association.\u00a0Gordon County 4-H will also recognize the top 3 pumpkins grown in Gordon County.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SPECIAL NOTE: We have free Dill&#8217;s Atlantic Giant pumpkin seeds at the Gordon County 4-H Office for anyone who wants to come get some and plant their own pumpkin.
