This contest offers 4-H&#8217;ers a chance to learn skills of farm\nmanagement, along with initiative, self-reliance, and preparation skills. We\nare happy to announce this competition is now open, and 4-H&#8217;ers are encouraged\nto begin preparing to grow their best watermelons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This contest is open to all 4-H&#8217;ers, Kindergarten through 12th grade, and only one submission is allowed per 4-H&#8217;er. This year\u2019s results will be announced on Monday, August 3rd, National Watermelon Day. The weights for watermelons must be measured and verified by the county Extension Office, and all entries must be submitted in Event Registration by&nbsp;<strong>Friday, July 31, 2020<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Awards will be given to the top three submissions as follows.&nbsp;\nPhotos are required for the top three awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table caes-extended-core-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td>\n  <strong>1<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;Place<\/strong>\n  <\/td><td>\n  <strong>2<sup>nd<\/sup>&nbsp;Place<\/strong>\n  <\/td><td>\n  <strong>3<sup>rd<\/sup>&nbsp;Place<\/strong>\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  $100.00\n  <\/td><td>\n  $50.00\n  <\/td><td>\n  $25.00\n  <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Carolina Cross variety is suggested, but not required for this competition.
