{"id":1775,"date":"2022-03-27T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-27T13:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/gordongrown\/?p=1775"},"modified":"2022-03-27T21:00:54","modified_gmt":"2022-03-28T01:00:54","slug":"2022-beekeeping-essay-contest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/site.extension.uga.edu\/gordongrown\/2022\/03\/2022-beekeeping-essay-contest\/","title":{"rendered":"2022 Beekeeping Essay Contest"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The annual Beekeeping Essay Contest is an exciting opportunity for students to test their writing abilities and learn something new about Honey Bees and their importance in the environment. &nbsp;This competition is open to all Georgia 4-H members in the 4<sup>th<\/sup>-12<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;grades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">State and national prizes are offered for this contest.&nbsp; For the state contest, a cash prize of $250 will be given for first place, $100 for second place, and $50 for third place.&nbsp; The first place Georgia essay will then move on to the national competition and will be eligible for additional prizes and awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The topic for the contest changes each year.&nbsp; This year\u2019s essay topic is, \u201c<em><u>Transportation: Minimizing Stress on Bees While Getting Them Where They Need to Be<\/u><\/em>.\u201d&nbsp; The deadline for submitting an essay is&nbsp;Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at 5:00 PM.&nbsp; Georgia winners will be announced by Wednesday, April 13, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For full contest guidelines, submission details, and all other information regarding the essay contest, visit the Georgia 4-H website at <a href=\"https:\/\/georgia4h.org\/programs\/focus-areas\/citizenship\/communication-fine-arts\/beekeeping-essay-contest\/\">https:\/\/georgia4h.org\/programs\/focus-areas\/citizenship\/communication-fine-arts\/beekeeping-essay-contest\/<\/a>. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This contest is graciously sponsored by The Foundation for the Preservation of Honey Bees, Inc. and The Georgia Beekeepers Association.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The annual Beekeeping Essay Contest is an exciting opportunity for students to test their writing abilities and learn something new about Honey Bees and their importance in the environment. &nbsp;This competition is open to all Georgia 4-H members in the 4th-12th&nbsp;grades.
