Each year during the Ellijay Apple Festival, there is a traditional Recipe Contest coordinated by the Gilmer FACS Agent; this year the annual apple recipe contest is a little different as they have opened a youth division too! 1st prize is $120 for youth! Top prize is $200 for the Adult Division. Also, no apple recipe overlooked this year…. It’s not just cake or pie; we encourage creativity and are expecting snacks, appetizers, salads, desserts and ranging from sweet to savory and all in between! Recipes are due on September 20th (emailed, mailed, or dropped off). After the top four are chosen, those contestants will compete in the live showdown on Oct. 8th at the Festival.
