The Georgia 4-H Food Showcase is comprised of four competitions:

  • Egg Preparation Demonstration (open to 7th-12th graders)
  • Chicken Barbecue Demonstration (open to 9th-12th graders)
  • Turkey Barbecue Demonstration (open to 9th-12th graders)
  • State Food Challenge for qualifying teams (please see previous post about that team competition)

The main objective of these competitions is to provide opportunities for participants to exhibit their knowledge and skill when preparing and presenting a dish. State winners for the senior division (9th-12th grade) earn Master 4-H status, receive a trip to the National 4-H Poultry and Egg Conference to compete on the national level, are recognized at Georgia 4-H State Congress.

This event is scheduled for September 11, 2021 at Rock Eagle 4-H Center. Rules and guidelines for each contest are listed below:

To register for this contest, students must be rising 7th-12th graders. Register at this link and you will receive contest details after the registration deadline of August 20.

DATES AT A GLANCE:  
Friday, August 20: Food Showcase event registration closes
Thursday, August 26, 5pm: Egg Preparation Demonstration Certification form and recipe due
Saturday, September 11: Food Showcase at Rock Eagle 4-H Center
