Georgia 4-H Project SAFE (shooting awareness, fun and education) uses shooting sports to teach may valuable life skills. This program provides youth a place to develop a sense of belonging, learn teamwork in a safe environment and increase concentration skills. Safety and the responsible use of firearms is the primary goal.

The discipline Shotgun Modified Trap Team is open to youth in 6th-12th grades and are currently enrolled in Gordon County 4-H. Practices will be on Sunday afternoons on January 19th, then when time changes Thursday evening practices will be added. The season includes a District Qualification Match and State Competition. Hunter education certification is required for all those in 7th-12th grade. All participants with at least one parent/guardian must attend a safety meeting prior to practicing.
