4-H Southern Region Teen Leadership Conference (SRTLC)
The Southern Region Teen Leadership Conference (SRTLC) is a first-of-its-kind, multi-state 4-H conference created to bring together 4-H teens and adults to empower & inspire them to make a positive change across the region through youth-adult partnerships.  The SRTLC Planning Committee is made up of youth and adults from Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, and Tennessee who collaborate together to plan, coordinate, and lead the conference. 

ELIGIBILITY
Applications will be accepted from 4-H members who will be in grades 9-12 this fall.  Applicants must be able to attend the in-person pre-conference and conference events from Wednesday September 18 through Sunday September 22, 2024.

RESPONSIBILITIES

SRTLC Planning Committee members are expected to fulfill the following obligations:

  • Attend at least 75% of all planning meetings leading up to the conference.
  • Plan and facilitate at least one workshop and roundtable at the conference.
  • Remain engaged and contributing to the work of planning and hosting an educational, memorable, and fun event for a diverse, multi-state 4-H youth population.
  • Attend the in-person pre-conference work session on Wednesday September 18, right before the conference.
  • Attend and help facilitate the in-person 4-H SRTLC on September 19-22, 2024.
  • Other duties as assigned.

GEORGIA’S DEADLINE & SELECTION
Interested 4-H’ers must complete this online application form by May 15 at 11:59PM to be considered for selection. No late applications will be accepted. Once the deadline passes, the adult planning committee members will receive the applications for review. You will be notified of your selection status by Friday, May 17.

COST
Reduced rate of $75 for Planning Committee Members.

APPLICATION TIPS:

  1. Before you apply, make sure you are available to attend five out of the seven committee meetings: May 21, Jun 3, Jul 8, Aug 12, Aug 26, Sep 9, and Sept 16 from 6:30-8:00PM ET/5:30-7:00PM CT. *Tentative dates that could change based on committee needs*
  2. Review the sample application above before you start the actual application.
  3. You may upload your 4-H portfolio where it asks for your resume. No need to change the format to a traditional “resume.”
  4. Do not stress if you have not thought through your entire workshop/round table plan. Provide a general idea of what you plan to teach. We realize this may change between now and the fall.
  5. Georgia’s deadline is different from what is listed on the application. Georgia’s application window is May 1-May 15. Applicants will be notified on May 17.
