Objective: The purpose of the award is to recognize 4-H members who have demonstrated consistent growth in their 4-H involvement, developed and applied their leadership skills, and actively participated in the functions of their 4-H club and community. It encourages the development of outstanding citizens through participation in a broad range of 4-H activities.

Eligibility: 4-H’ers are eligible for the Georgia 4-H Key Award beginning in 9th grade. 4-H’ers who achieve Level 4 are ineligible to receive the Georgia 4-H Key Award again.

Guidelines: This application must be typed. The application is divided into eight sections. Points are limited in each section based on the space provided; no additional pages/spaces may be added. Although eligibility begins in the 9th grade, points are cumulative starting in the 7th grade.

Prizes and Awards: The Key Award has four levels based on the total cumulative points of your application. 4-H’ers are encouraged to work their way through the levels until reaching Level 4.

  • Level 1 500 – 749 Key Award Certificate and Key Award Pin
  • Level 2 750 – 999 Bronze Medallion and Key Award Pin
  • Level 3 1,000 – 1,249 Silver Medallion and Key Award Pin
  • Level 4 1250+ Gold Medallion, Key Award Pin, and Master 4-H Status

Submitting Awards: The Georgia 4-H Key Award Application is due annually by May 15th. The application is attached to this post. Completed award applications should be submitted to: www.tinyurl.com/GA4HKeyAward.
