This conference is a first-of-its-kind, multi-state 4-H conference created to bring together 4-H teens and adults to empower & inspire them to make a positive change across the southern region through youth-adult partnerships. Georgia 4-H participates as one of several host states for SRTLC each year. This opportunity is open to 4-H’ers in 9-12th grades and will take place on Thursday, September 21-Sunday, September 24, 2023 in Crossville, Tennessee. The cost to attend the Southern Region Teen Leadership Conference is $360. This fee includes lodging, meals (once in Crossville), a t-shirt, and charter bus transportation to Crossville and back. Charter buses will depart from Rock Eagle 4-H Center at 10:30 AM on Thursday, September 21, 2023, with multiple stops along the route and return to Rock Eagle 4-H Center at 4:30 PM on Sunday, September 24, 2023. Participants need to bring money for snacks and meals for the travel to and from this conference. Georgia has a limited number of spaces so this event is first come, first served. There will be a waiting list once capacity is reached. Event Registration will close on Thursday, August 24, 2023. Please click this link to register.
Also, SRTLC is now accepting Workshop and Roundtable proposals!
- Workshops (60 minutes): We recommend that teams consist of two youth and one adult, we strongly encourage this for workshops. It is also highly recommended that workshops include at least 30 minutes of hands-on activity in the workshops.
- Roundtables (20 minutes): Guided discussion times around specific topics. For each roundtable, the contact will need to devise a topic and a list of guiding questions that will help move discussion along. It is our goal that roundtables could be offered up to 4 times, back-to-back, to allow 4 sets of youth to learn and discuss more about that topic.
