Whether or not you’ve participated in SRTLC before, serving on the 4-H SRTLC Planning Committee is an incredible opportunity to help host this year’s event, to provide leadership to fellow 4-H’ers from around the southeast, and to make the conference the best it can be! - Applications will be accepted from 4-H members who will be in grades 10–12 this fall
- 3 youth members will be selected from the applications received
- Previous attendance of the Southern Region 4-H Teen Leadership Conference is not a requirement to serve on the committee, but such experience is helpful

BACKGROUND
The Southern Region Teen Leadership Conference (SRTLC) is a first-of-its-kind, multi-state 4-H conference created to bring together 4-H teens and adults to empower & inspire them to make a positive change across the region through youth-adult partnerships. Georgia 4-H participates as one of several host states for SRTLC each year, serving with other host states on the SRTLC Planning Committee. The Planning Committee is comprised of three 4-H youth and two 4-H adults from each of the host states, and the committee members collaboratively plan and lead the conference.
ELIGIBILITY
Applications will be accepted from 4-H members who will be in grades 10-12 this fall. Applicants must be able to attend the in-person, pre-conference work meeting at the Clyde M. York 4-H Center in Crossville, TN on September 20, 2023, as well as the actual conference on September 21-24, 2023.
RESPONSIBILITIES
SRTLC Planning Committee members are expected to fulfill the following obligations:
- -Attend all online planning sessions leading up to the conference
- -Plan and lead at least one workshop/funshop at the conference
- -Remain engaged and contributing to the work of planning and hosting an educational, memorable, and fun event for a diverse, multi-state 4-H youth population
- -Attend the in-person, pre-conference work session on Wednesday, Sept. 20, right before the conference
- -Attend and help facilitate the in-person 4-H SRTLC conference on September 21-24, 2023.
- -Other duties as assigned
DEADLINE
Interested 4-H’ers must complete the online application form by Monday, June 26 at 5:00 PM to be considered for selection. We will announce the selected committee members on July 10.
REGISTRATION & TRANSPORTATION
Planning committee members’ registration is free. However, the committee members will be responsible for a transportation fee based upon the vehicle rental fees. Note that transportation to/from the 4-H Center in Crossville, TN, will be arranged for the Planning Committee by Kelle Ashley. However, youth committee members will be responsible for arranging transport to a designated meet-up location within the state.

If selected to serve on the planning committee, you will be expected to attend five Zoom meetings.
