A website from UGA Cooperative Extension

Below is information from our Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent Greg Bowman:

Egg candling certification. The attachment is from the Georgia Department of Ag website concerning egg candling If you want to start selling eggs.  Note the bullet points below.

  • I am trying to get an egg candling certification class here in Calhoun
  • Currently, there is NO COST to getting an egg candling certification.
  • There is NO AGE MINIMUM to get a certification, but any youth must be able to read and write because the take their OWN exam at the end of the class session.
  • Anyone can get certified as long as they can read and write for the exam part.
  • If interested, I need the name, address, email address/phone number of EACH person wanting to take the class. Please enter that information at this interest list link: https://ugeorgia.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_73Qqn8AROxPr6Jg
  • Date will be confirmed after I provide the list of potential participants to the Georgia Department of Ag. When the date is chosen, the people on the list will be contacts so they can have 24 hours to select the session time on class day.
  • You would take only one session and they normally last about 2 hours.
  • Again, if you are interested or need to become egg candling certified, please register at the link above.  I will announce this to the general public also very soon.
