Project Achievement is an individual presentation (approximately five minutes for 6th graders, approximately 10 minutes for 7th-12th graders) on a topic of the student’s choice, with over 50+ project categories that can also include performing arts, food preparation, sewing, and public speaking. As 6th graders, students get to compete at the Area Cloverleaf Project Achievement at Georgia Highlands College in Rome on Saturday, January 22.

7th-12th Graders

As 7th-12th graders, the students get to compete at the District Project Achievement at Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton on Friday-Sunday, March 11-13.

For 7th-12th graders, the district competition requires an additional portfolio component (like a résumé) which must be submitted by Monday, January 10. I have created a portfolio template in Google Classroom and will walk each student that wishes to compete through the process of completing the portfolio; the deadline is coming fast though, so email me ASAP to receive the template!

Registration and Other Information

We will provide transportation to and from the competition. We also help each student with creating their presentation, so you are not on your own in completing the project.

If your child is interested in participating in the 4-H Project Achievement competition, please call the 4-H office at 706-629-8685 or text me at 706-403-1004 or email me at allie.griner@uga.edu by Tuesday, January 4 and I will send you more information about the next steps to prepare. I will also be at the office January 4-7 and January 10 to assist anyone that needs help in person.

As a reminder, the local Gordon County 4-H Scholarship for graduating seniors requires that youth have participated in 4 years of Project Achievement, at least two of which must be during their high school years. Also, graduating seniors receive their cords by attending District Project Achievement in their 12th grade year.
